What is a Flight Crew Operations Manual, commonly called an FCOM or FOM?

A FCOM is a technical publication written for a specific aircraft which is used to operate that aircraft and to explain the technical specifications for that aircraft. For example, a standard 737-300 FCOM would consists of a 3 volume set supplied in three separate volumes or one master volume to current technical layout specs (5.5" X 8.5"):

  • Volume I: Intro, MTOC, LEP, Bulletins, Limitations, Normals, Supplementals, etc., etc.
  • Volume II: 15 Systems Chapters, and up to 5 additional specialized chapters.
